The Sparco R383 steering wheel, the heart of the system

The steering wheel is an official replica of the Sparco R383, a 330-mm round, three-spoke aluminum wheel wrapped in genuine Alcantara. This diameter, which is more compact than a classic GT steering wheel, is perfectly suited for rally driving, where drivers make rapid corrections and tight turns one after another. The Alcantara provides grip—especially when wearing gloves—though it does wear out slightly faster, as is typical for this type of material. The all-metal construction gives the wheel a reassuring heft, a far cry from hollow plastic wheels.

The Podium Button Module Rally is the true hallmark of this kit. Weighing 280 g (including the adapter ring), it features nine programmable RGB backlit buttons with a 600 g actuation force, two directional pads for quick access to functions, and three 12-step multi-position selectors that also function as rotary encoders. A 1-inch OLED screen displays the settings menu and useful information. The button inserts are interchangeable, allowing for extensive customization of the button mapping. This density of controls, accessible without taking your eyes off the road, clearly makes a difference on a special stage.

Magnetic paddles and quick-release fasteners

The Universal Hub V2 comes standard with the ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module, featuring magnetic paddles (small and large included) known for their crisp, quick click. It also features updated electronics and the QR2 quick-release system, which allows you to swap out the steering wheel in just a few seconds if you own other Fanatec steering wheels.

Compatibility: Aim for the Xbox

This is the most important thing to check before making a purchase. This Xbox version works on Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S thanks to the Universal Hub, and can also be used on PC. However, it absolutely requires a compatible Fanatec base, sold separately: Podium DD1, DD2, DD1 PS4, ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, CSL DD, or Gran Turismo DD Pro. Without a compatible Fanatec base, this steering wheel is useless; it’s primarily intended for sim racers who already own Fanatec equipment.

Who, exactly?

This Rally Sweden is aimed at a specific audience: rally and rallycross drivers already part of the Fanatec ecosystem, who play on Xbox or PC and want a specialized cockpit setup rather than a versatile GT steering wheel. The three-year warranty and high-quality construction reinforce its status as a serious piece of equipment. Those who primarily drive GT or single-seaters may find the round steering wheel less suitable, and the price tag remains that of high-end equipment. But for its intended use, it’s hard to find a more well-suited product from Fanatec.
